World's Lowest-Priced Subminiature Draw Wire Sensor Now Available
Designed for OEM, Training, Educational, Laboratory, and Office Environments

PALMDALE, CALIFORNIA USA -- The Series 1 line of subminiature draw wire sensors with flexible electrical outputs is now shipping, meeting the price requirements of cost-sensitive applications. With a price of $75.00 US for single-quantities, the Series 1 is the world's lowest-priced draw wire sensor. Monitoring up to 4 inches (102 mm) of displacement, the Series 1 draw wire transducers offer a choice of electrical outputs:

  • 4-20 mA
  • bridge (strain gage)
  • voltage conditioner (0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, ±5 VDC, ±10 VDC, and many more
  • voltage divider

Users can save space, time, and money by using the intgrated signal conditioning. The signal conditioner is integrated into the miniature transducer and eliminates wiring to specialized signal conditioning modules. The bridge, voltage conditioner, and 4-20 mA options cost less than 30% of standalone signal conditioning modules.

The product line was developed based on user input showing a broad range of signal output requirements. Research conducted by SpaceAge Control shows these user preferences for electrical outputs:

Electrical Ouput Type Percent
0-5 VDC 17%
±5 VDC 12%
0-10 VDC 18%
±10 VDC 12%
bridge (strain gage) 3%
4-20 mA 22%
voltage divider 6%
RS-232 6%
quadrature (digital) 4%
TOTAL 100%

The voltage conditioner output is particularly flexible by allowing for 12 to 40 VDC input and providing user-settable outputs such as 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, ±5 VDC, ±10 VDC, and many more. In addition, reverse polarity protection is provided along with a choice of increasing or decreasing signal output.

All Series 1 products feature:

  • AccuTrakTM Grooved Drum For Enhanced Repeatability
  • DirectConnectTM Sensor-To-Drum Technology = Zero Backlash, No Torsion Springs or Clutches
  • NEMA 3S / IP 54 Environmental Protection
  • Flexible Mounting
  • Industrial Operating Temperature Range (-40° to 185° F (-40° to 85° C))
